2 DAY COURSE

Course Content
This 2-day course will teach you the skills, give you the confidence and most importantly QUALIFY you to hold your own UK Sniffer Dogs workshops, classes and trials.

Topics include:

Foundations on how the dog’s nose works (anatomy & physiology)
Different methods to teach Scent Identification, Indication & Searches to pet dog owners.
Step by Step instructions on how to run a 4 hour Bronze workshop for your clients.

70% of the course will be practical work so you will gain plenty of hands-on experience.

What you will receive:

Detailed class plans to enable you to run a 6 week course.
2 Trial templates so that when your clients are ready you can hold your own competitions!
A printed booklet with all the information covered in the course and a delegate bag
Certificate
Tea, Coffee and Cakes!
2 days of fun and learning with your dog!

What to Expect on the Day

Please arrive with your dog at 08:30 for a 09:00 start!
Course will finish at 17:00
Dogs will have to spend about an hour in the car or crate (around 10-11:30), they will be worked intensely from then on.

Your Dog

Your dog does not need to have any previous scent work experience. However it’s fine if your dog does have experience - our methods will not interfere with what they already know.
Please feed your dog out of a RED KONG (must be red) at least once a day for at least one week before attending the course, all will be revealed when you arrive!
Please note, our instructor courses are aimed at you the instructor not your dog or your dog’s performance on the day. The emphasis is on giving you the skills and knowledge to confidently deliver UK Sniffer Dogs classes, workshops and trials.

Minimum requirements
Our courses are designed for dog trainers looking to expand their knowledge and/or to introduce scent work to their clients. Attendees should have qualifications with the APDT, IMDT, SCS, VSA, PPG, PPN, ICAN, ISCP or scent qualifications such as WSDA Instructor, Scentwork UK, UKCSD or any other form of Positive Reinforcement Dog Training Association.

We are aware there are many amazing, knowledgeable dog trainers within this industry without any formal qualifications. We would hate to miss the opportunity of having awesome trainers onboard with our programmes because of this.

Becoming a UKSD Instructor
Before you purchase your course you must sign a contract agreeing to our Instructor Terms and Conditions. You can read up on the expectations here.
As part of our terms and conditions a licence fee of £10 per month will be charged and billing will commence after you have passed your course. The licence fee is mandatory for all instructors and will give you use of our course content for classes, workshops and trials, use of our logo and be added to our Instructors Directory on our website. You may also elect to upgrade to our membership instead - see below.

Remember.....

You are not permitted to teach unless paying the UK Sniffer Dogs licence fee
You may cancel after a minimum of 12 months but all association with UK Sniffer Dogs and teaching our copyright content must cease with immediate effect.

Membership
Upon successful completion of this course, as well as receiving CPD certification and becoming a qualified UK Sniffer Dogs Bronze instructor, you will also be invited to become a UK Sniffer Dogs member. Absolutely brilliant course! I had already completed the Bronze workshops as a handler so it was really interesting to see the course from an instructor perspective. It did not disappoint! Thoroughly engaging from start to finish with the right blend of theory and practical! The venue at Salisbury football club was superb and the navigation of the dogs between areas was expertly handled. Jamie and the team were fantastic and I left feeling confident to deliver scent workshops and the booklet is an invaluable resource! Keep up the great work guys!

Thoroughly enjoyed the two days in Salisbury. I had so much fun with my dog Penny and I met lot's of lovely people that I hope to cross paths with again. I feel confident to go on and teach scent detection to my clients that I know are keen to get going. The day was well managed with breaks and I felt comfortable with my dog at all times which is really important to me when attending an unknown venue. Thank you to all the team for organising a fantastic couple of days.

I was really looking forward to doing this course and it far exceeded my expectations. I learned so much in the theory sessions and watching my dog work in different environments was a joy. Learning how to then pass on this information in both class and workshop set ups was invaluable. I am so thankful to Jamie and the team at UK sniffer dogs and am proud to be delivering all that I’ve learned. Wow, I’ve just completed the Bronze Instructors course and both myself and my Sprocker Spaniel Benji, LOVED it.
It was informative, interesting and fun. Jamie and Gemma are great and I naturally felt at ease, even though this was my first Dog related course I have done since becoming a full time trainer just 8 weeks ago.
I honestly cannot recommend this course enough and I will be doing my Silver and Gold as soon as I can 👌👏🦮

I’ve just finished this course after having it highly recommended to me by a trainer friend and wow it didn’t disappoint.
Jamie and Gemma were just brilliant, they were so supportive and all the dogs were looked after so well.
The course is so well laid out, I’ve learnt so much and didn't want it to end.
I can't wait to go back and start my scent classes and come back and do the silver instructors course.

I attended the Bronze instructors course last week and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I've been on a fair few training courses over the years but honestly I came away from this course armed with everything i could possibly need to start my classes in scentwork. Because we were given a beautifully printed book with pretty much most of the info we needed to learn - the science behind it, plus the breakdown of each class/workshop to run I was able to concentrate on the training rather than frantically writing notes to look at later. The instructors were all fantastic, so helpful and inspiring - and not only was it a supportive environment to learn in but we had great fun too. Top notch!

I really enjoyed the two day bronze instructors course and especially on the way it has been designed to teach us on how to build our individual business. I would always recommend this teaching to anyone who wishes to further themselves in our dog training industry, As for the host and co-founder of UK Snifferdogs, the training was so clear and well organised from Jamie and at all times he made you feel special. I now feel that im part of a successful team going forward.

This course should come with a warning!! Because once you have begun your journey with UK Sniffer Dogs you will be totally addicted! The course is so engaging, packed full of info all whilst being fun and supportive. Jamie is incredible at what he does and his passion for scent work and helping other trainers share the benefits really shines through! If you are thinking about booking but aren't sure, I can assure you, you will not regret it!! :)

This course was among the top courses I have done. It was structured beautifully. Jamie is a fantastic tutor who has a very personable yet professional attitude. His compassion for the dogs welfare also shone through. The resources that came with the course are by far the best I've seen. This course really gave me the confidence to go out and immediately start my sniffer dog instructing. I am on the verge of booking my first stadium venue!!

The BEST course i ever done since i started my training career. In depth, lots of knowledge and hands on practical, Jamie is a 5star instructor, and made everyone feel confidence and shared his time equally to all of us. cannot recommend enough this course and i am already planning to go to the silver! Helped me so much in my training classes for behavior related cases but also to have lots of fun with the dogs and owners! Still feel pump up and emotional with spending just 2 days with Jamie. Thoroughly enjoyed the two days, good mix of theory and practical and you are provided with all the skills and information you need in order to run your own UK Sniffer Dogs courses, which we can’t wait to get started with! I have just attended the Bronze Level Instructor Course and can highly recommend! Jamie is a fab presenter and I have really come away with confidence that I will be able to do Sniffer Dog UK proud in running some courses. The content was a perfect mix of theory, practical and discussion. The best thing about the course, for me, was being given thorough lesson plans on how to deliver the course just as Jamie has developed it, his passion for the course and what it can help dog owners achieve is clear to see. The information given was so clear and utmost care was taken to ensure the dogs helping their handlers were the first priority. I have just completed uk sniffer dog instructors course , I can not recommend it enough! Jamie and Gemma are highly knowledgable and so enthusiastic. The structure of the course is perfect, a short time in the class room and the hands on practical learning with your dogs. The booklet has everything you have learned and an added bonus of plans for lessons and a bronze trail all there for you ! What an action packed and fun course! Jamie is a natural teacher and his and Gemma's enthusiasm is infectious. There was absolutely no filler, straight to the point, very hands on with practical skills being developed. The guide and all the materials provided are really useful. I had dabbled in scent work before and seeing the benefits I've had with this in reactive dogs, I really wanted to further my skills. This has given me the confidence and format to do my own workshops and I can direct owners of reactive dogs to the online version of this course. Everyone's a winner! Thank you so much, I'll be back to do the silver course without doubt.

I have just returned from the Bronze UK Sniffer Dogs Coach 2 day course. I want to do it all over again! It was fab. The attention to detail, the amount of information given, the style of teaching, everything about the 2days was fabulous and such fun. I am feeling really inspired and motivated to start my own classes/workshops in Devon and look forward to doing the Silver course next year.

Wow, I have just spent the last two days doing this course and what a fantastic couple of days training it has been.Course content was clearly well thought out giving participants everything they need to hit the ground running and get delivering Scent classes straight away.Jamie and Gemmas enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject was infectious and really shone through, and all subject matter was delivered with just the right balance of theory and practical.I would recommend this programme to anyone looking to branch out into scent work classes - it really does have everything that you need.
