Tracking is the ability detect , recognise and follow a specific scent. Our dogs are born with this skill and would use it for survival before being domesticated. Humans have harnessed this for years by applying dog behaviour to the dogs ability to track, we now use tracking dogs for lots of different operational purposes:
- Police for criminals and evidence.
- Military for opposition and threats and in some countries poachers.
- Finding Animals
When tracking a human the dogs are taught to follow Track Scent, which is the disturbance in the ground left by the humans feet, (footprints) tracking the dogs are taught to keep their nose down and follow the whole track not just to get to the end, but to also indicate on any evidence (articles) dropped by the criminal and which route he took.

I am pleased to provide a review on the bronze pet dog tracking dog online course that I recently completed with my dog, Neroli. The course was truly enjoyable, as Neroli excelled in tracking the scents of various objects, notably the kongs, while keeping her nose close to the ground throughout our sessions.
One particularly fun exercise we engaged in was hiding a kong in the woods for Neroli to track down. It was heartwarming to witness her enthusiasm and determination as she followed the scent trail to locate the hidden item. This activity not only showcased Neroli's natural tracking abilities but also strengthened our bond as we worked together towards a common goal.
I must commend the course for its excellent structure and comprehensive content.
