Build on everything you’ve developed so far and expand your offering with more advanced searches, greater complexity, and structured progression for both dogs and handlers.

2-Day Practical Instructor Course

This hands-on 2-day course is designed to help you confidently deliver Gold level classes, workshops, and trials within your own dog training business.

You’ll refine your skills, deepen your understanding, and leave ready to guide your clients through the most advanced stage of their scent detection journey.

What You’ll Learn

• How to introduce and teach four different search types

• How to add a new target scent to a dog’s scent library

• How to structure and run Gold level trials

• How to deliver Series 5 & 6 workshops

• How to confidently run structured 6-week Gold courses

What You’ll Receive

• Gold level trial templates ready to use

• A printed course booklet

• Your UK Sniffer Dogs Gold Instructor Certificate

• Tea, coffee… and cake!

• Two days of practical learning and progression with your dog

What to Expect on the Day

• Arrival: 09:00 for a 09:30 start

• Finish: approximately 15:30–16:00

• There will be a period (mid-morning) where dogs rest in the car or crate before practical work begins

• From late morning onwards, dogs will be working more actively

Your Dog

Ideally, your dog will have worked through Silver level.

If not, that’s absolutely fine—just get in touch before booking so we can guide you.

Please note:
This course is designed for you as the instructor. Your dog is part of the learning process, but the focus is on building your skills, understanding, and confidence in delivering Gold level training.

• Trainers who are force-free and reward-based

• Instructors ready to deliver more advanced training and progression for their clients

You must have completed your Silver instructor qualification before progressing to Gold.

Licence or Membership – What You Need to Continue

As a UK Sniffer Dogs Instructor, you should already have an active Licence or Membership in place.

If you do not currently have one, you will need to sign up before continuing with the Gold course.

• The Licence (£10/month) allows you to teach UK Sniffer Dogs content, use our branding, and be listed on our Instructor Directory

• The Membership (£20/month) includes your licence, along with additional support, resources, and business tools, Membership Details

You only need one or the other—membership includes the licence.

Progressing as an Instructor

Upon successful completion, you’ll be qualified to deliver Gold level training within your business.

You’ll also have the opportunity to upgrade your membership to Gold level, unlocking further support, resources, and continued professional development.

Gold is where your training really comes into its own.

It allows you to offer depth, variety, and progression to your clients—keeping them engaged, challenged, and continuing their journey with you.
