Build on your existing skills and expand what you can offer your clients with more advanced scent work, structured progression, and new challenges for both dogs and handlers.

2-Day Practical Instructor Course

This hands-on 2-day course is designed to help you confidently deliver Silver level classes, workshops, and trials within your own dog training business.

You’ll deepen your understanding, refine your teaching, and leave ready to guide your clients through the next stage of their scent detection journey.

What You’ll Learn

• How to introduce multiple target scents into a dog’s scent library

• How to train and apply different indication behaviours

• How to structure and run Silver level trials

• How to deliver Series 3 & 4 workshops

• How to confidently run structured 6-week Silver courses

What You’ll Receive

• Silver level trial templates ready to use

• A printed course booklet

• Your UK Sniffer Dogs Silver Instructor Certificate

• Tea, coffee… and cake!

• Two days of practical learning and progression with your dog

What to Expect on the Day

• Arrival: 09:00 for a 09:30 start

• Finish: approximately 15:30–16:00

• There will be a period (mid-morning) where dogs rest in the car or crate before practical work begins

• From late morning onwards, dogs will be working more actively

Your Dog

Ideally, your dog will have worked through Bronze level.

If not, that’s absolutely fine—just get in touch before booking so we can guide you.

Please note:
This course is designed for you as the instructor. Your dog is part of the learning process, but the focus is on building your skills, understanding, and confidence in delivering Silver level training.

Who This Course Is For

This course is designed for:

• Qualified Bronze UK Sniffer Dogs Instructors

• Trainers who are force-free and reward-based

• Instructors ready to progress their clients and expand their class offerings

You must have completed your Bronze instructor qualification before progressing to Silver.

Before You Book

As an existing UK Sniffer Dogs Instructor, you must be:

• Actively holding a Licence (£10/month)
  or

• An active UK Sniffer Dogs Member (£20/month) Membership Details

This ensures you are authorised to teach and continue delivering UK Sniffer Dogs content.

Progressing as an Instructor

Upon successful completion, you’ll be qualified to deliver Silver level training within your business.

You’ll also have the opportunity to upgrade your membership to Silver level, unlocking further support, resources, and continued professional development.

A Final Note

Silver is where things really start to come together.

It allows you to challenge your clients, develop your dogs further, and add depth and progression to your training programmes.
